### The Horizon Prophecy

The traders of the realm had grown used to living one day at a time: open at dawn, close by dusk, never looking past the next tick. But the Timekeeper's oldest scrolls spoke of a further shore, a horizon where rates hold still long enough to build on.

Those who would reach it must do more than trade. They must commit, holding their positions through the weeks while others flee at the first gust. The longer the journey, the greater the reward: thirty days, sixty, ninety, each one a step closer to the far edge of the market.

Two weeks. One horizon. Will you hold the line?

### How it works

**What counts**

* Only activity on **Ethereum mainnet** between the start and end of the quest, in the markets listed in the web app at [kairosswap.com](https://kairosswap.com). Markets that aren't listed there don't count, even if they run on the same contracts.
* A **qualifying swap** has a notional of at least $100 and is held for at least 24 hours (or until it expires or is liquidated).
* A **qualifying bet** is at least $10 in a Rate Up/Down USDC round whose betting closes during the quest. Krystals rounds don't count.

**How each prize is scored**

* **Top P/L** is measured in **US dollars, not % return**: the biggest dollar profit wins, whatever its size relative to your collateral. It counts *every* swap you open during the quest, whatever its size or how long you hold it, plus your Rate Up/Down results. Closed swaps count what you got back minus what you put in, fees included. Open swaps count the net payments they've earned so far, after fees, the same figure your [Portfolio](https://kairosswap.com/portfolio) shows. You need one qualifying swap or five Rate Up/Down rounds to rank.
* **Most committed** rewards keeping money in swaps. Each swap scores its collateral in dollars × the days you hold it during the quest: $1,000 held for 10 days scores 10,000, the same as $10,000 held for 1 day. Longer-term swaps held without closing score extra: **30-day 1.5×, 60-day 2×, 90-day 2.5×**. For example, $1,000 in a 90-day swap held for the last 10 days of the quest scores 1,000 × 10 × 2.5 = 25,000. An early exit, liquidation or transfer (including wrapping it in the position wrapper) drops that swap back to 1× and out of the holders pool.
* **Long-dated holders pool**: every 30d, 60d or 90d qualifying swap still held at the end, opened at least 3 days before the end, shares the $150 by collateral × term multiplier. It doesn't matter how early you opened. The last chance to open one is **Tue Oct 27, 12:00 PM ET** (16:00 UTC).
* **Booby prize** goes to the most negative Top P/L (the biggest dollar loss), with at least five qualifying swaps or rounds.

Hedged pairs count once: if you buy fixed *and* floating in markets with the same token and term, only the larger side earns the long-dated bonus.

### Raffle

Every wallet that has ever connected to Kairos is entered automatically, free. Connecting before the quest ends is enough: no trade is needed and trading doesn't improve your odds.

1. [Connect your wallet](https://kairosswap.com) to Kairos (any time up to the end of the quest).
2. Hold at least $50 in ETH or USDC on Ethereum at one random block during the quest.
3. One entry per wallet. Two winners are drawn after the quest using the hash of an Ethereum block announced in advance, so anyone can check the result.

### Fair play

* Wallets funded from the same source are treated as one wallet.
* Wallets that are among a market's top liquidity providers can't win the Booby prize.
* Team wallets can't win. Winning wallets are screened against sanctions lists before payout.
* Results are published after a three-day settlement period, followed by 48 hours to dispute. The team's decision on disqualification is final.

### Timeline

All times are 12:00 PM ET (16:00 UTC).

1. **Fri Oct 16, 2026:** the quest starts.
2. **Tue Oct 27:** last chance to open a swap for the holders pool.
3. **Fri Oct 30:** the quest ends. The raffle seed block is announced before this.
4. **Oct 30 – Nov 2:** settlement period.
5. **Mon Nov 2:** results and raffle winners published.
6. **Wed Nov 4:** disputes close.
7. **About Fri Nov 6:** USDC prizes paid on Ethereum.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.kairosswap.com/kairos-quests/horizon-quest.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
